A member of Stay Connected magazine had the privilege to be invited to a Champagne tasting experience by Duval-Leroy at Monica Galletti’s restaurant ‘Mere’ in the heart of london.
Located on Charlotte Street, London, Mere is a bar and restaurant owned by husband and wife, Monica and David Galetti.
The 6 course Champagne tasting course started with Duval-Leroy’s Brut Reserve, a blend of pinot noir and chardonnay. The notes are of dark chocolate, cinnamon and figs.
Each glass we tried was exquisite and matched the fine dining courses perfectly. One of the most memorable bottles is the Cuvee, (video below) of Charles Duval-Leroy explaining how his father designed the bottle in 1999 with the logo containing the first letters of his children.
Mere offers food with passion and heritage. The name of the restaurant was inspired by the French word for mother, and is also Monica’s mothers name!
Perfect for a special occasion or just if you want a sophisticated evening, Mere is an elegant and contemporary restaurant. The bar is the ideal place to chill out before or after a meal, with hand crafted cocktails, or signature champagne if you prefer.
The restaurant itself is accessible to all, and flooded with natural light, making it the perfect hot spot for a meal or a drink any time of day. The restaurant has options for sitting downstairs, or upstairs if you prefer.
The food itself is ingredient led, with influence from France and the South Pacific. Catering for vegetarians, and special dietary requirements, Mere accommodates for everyone.
Lockdown has been tough on all of our social lives, making birthdays difficult and social gatherings nonexistent. Mere offers private dining, available for 10 guests, with a bespoke 6 course menu alongside the perfect drinks for each dish. This is ideal for catching up with friends and family.
